Department of Electrical Electronics Engineering started in the Year 1995 and has been functioning effectively making commendable contribution towards teaching and learning. The department has highly qualified and dedicated members in all major areas of discipline. Harnessing electrical energy is the challenge for electrical engineers. The power packed EEE department inspires budding Electrical Engineers with the potent idea of constructing generating stations, transmission lines distribution systems. Our field also finds its expertise in designing, testing and supervising the manufacture of various electrical electronic equipment used in real time applications.

The department enjoys the privilege of having spacious and well equipped laboratories providing students with an industrial environment. This proves to be helpful to them when they leave the campus. The department offers an undergraduate degree programme since 1995 and a post graduate course on Power Electronics and Drives since 2003. The department has a Research Centre in collaboration with Anna University for the past six years, which enable the internal and external staff to pursue research work. Presently 14 research scholars are guided by the efficient supervisors of the Research Centre. In the year 2003 NBA Accreditation was obtained for UG programme.

Electrical Machines Laboratory

The lab is equipped with different kinds of motors and generators such as Shunt, squirrel cage motor, series motor, AC and DC generator, etc…

Power Electronics Laboratory

This lab is well equipped with different kinds of experimental kits useful for power system analysis.

Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory

The lab is useful for students for doing simulation related projects. The lab is well equipped with latest simulation software like MATLAB.

Control System Laboratory

The lab is equipped with 8085 kits, MASM software, 8051 kit etc… Interfacing of these kits is also available.

Micro-processor and controller

Power System Simulation Laboratory

This lab is equipped with number of computers loaded with the latest software like MATHCAD, ETAP, PSPICE, etc which are useful for the students to do their projects.
