The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is an integral part of Jerusalem College of Engineering aims at bringing out the technical and inherent talents of the young and budding Engineers. The Department was established in the academic year 1995 – 1996 offering a four year B.E. Degree Program with an intake of 45. Students are admitted through the single window Admission procedure of Anna University. The department is reaccredited by NBA (National Board for Accreditation) in the year 2008 for 3 years.

Jerusalem college of Engineering is committed to the development of top class technical manpower which can help the Indian Industry in attaining excellence and also earning a reputation of being a dependable source of technical knowledge and expertise abroad. The department of Computer Science and Engineering will see that the students from the department are adepts in adapting themselves to ever changing concepts and innovations with the belief that technology makes it possible to gain control over every realm of human life today. The mission of the department to impart knowledge of the subject accompanied with a high sense of integrity and commitment to the tasks, intended to promote the all round development and well being of humanity as a whole.

Laboratries

The Department uses a well-equipped and hi-tech laboratory that permits each student to work on an individual computer. The lab has got Pentium IV systems, printers and licenses for all the soft wares that are used. They include the following laboratories,

The classrooms are equipped with multimedia, LCD projectors and audio-visual equipment to facilitate effective learning. They are designed to promote maximum interaction between the faculty and students.

Conference

A National Conference on “Advances in Computer Science and Information Technology” was held on 23rd and 24th of February 2007.

Our Department has also conducted many seminar/Guest Lectures for the students in the current technologies and also workshops/faculty development program for faculties. click here

MOU (MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING)

The department of Computer Science and Engineering has signed a MoU with Kumaran Systems Private Ltd, Chennai.
• Kumaran shall evaluate and select the desired number of candidates from the final year of Bachelor/Post graduates who have good aptitude, communication and technical skills.
• The selected candidates shall be given the opportunity to work with the best teams at Kumaran in various domains.
• The department of Computer Science and Engineering has signed a MoU with ProXS Infocomm Ltd in January 2009.
• To assist in setting up lab facilities, so that the students can get more expert ideas, apart from their regular curriculum.
•To deliver special lectures on the current development areas for the staff and students to update their knowlege.
• The department of Computer Science and engineering has signed a MoU with Softech Global Solutions. Collaborative technical and development activities in the fields of education and training are listed below.
     - Student projects
     - Placement Guidance
     - Seminars on recent developments in the Business field.
• The department of Computer Science and Engineering has signed a MoU with CCS Info Tech Ltd on July 2008.
     - To extend facilities such as computer, software, sophisticated equipments, instruments, etc.
     - To conduct seminars and workshop where by the students and staff are benefited.
